To finish off the East Gippsland Waterfront program in style, we have a closing celebration lined up in partnership with Gippslandia quarterly newspaper and Sailor’s Grave Brewing. Taking place in a former iceworks factory replete with old cool rooms and industrial details, the evening will feature the launch of the latest print issue of Gippslandia and will include food by local food producers and drink by local and sustainable brewers, Sailors Grave. While you’re at Iceworks, check out the exhibition by Monash Architecture students titled Rethinking Regional Recovery (speculative design solutions for East Gippsland communities hit hard by the 2020 bushfires).

We’ll wrap up the evening with live music from Biscotti, who blends synth, pop, disco, hip hop and more to create her own genre-defying, wonderfully weird but easily accessible sound.

Waterfront is proudly presented by Centre for Architecture Victoria | Open House Melbourne, in partnership with Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and East Gippsland Shire Council.

Biscotti

If you’ve never heard of Biscotti, think of a food item mixed with strange jazz, a synth pop baptism or a 50 year old cake store in Italy. Biscotti is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Carla Ori. Her sound defies genre classification and has an undeniable authenticity. Blending synth, pop, disco, hip hop and more for an alt-pop marvel to create her own wonderfully weird but easily accessible sound. At times kinda lo-fi, at others very old school cinematic. Her songs are vibrant, full of energy and will take you on a journey from a smokey men’s cafe to a sweaty sexy disco club in Roma.
