OC House: Australia’s First Community Based Co-Work Past Event
Studio Tate presents a tour and panel discussion of Our Community House as part of Melbourne Design Week 2021.
This event includes a pre-recorded tour of Our Community (OC) House sharing the story behind the organisation and its collaboration with Melbourne based interior architecture practice Studio Tate, followed by a panel discussion.
OC House will showcase the country’s first community based co-work – a social innovation data science and communications lab, designed to bring Australia’s social sector safely and productively into the data era.

Alex Hopkins
Alex’s varied responsibilities include project briefing, design direction, project management as well as business development and practice strategy. She is an interior designer with extensive experience across hospitality, workplace, private residential and multi-residential portfolios. Carol Schwartz is one of Australia’s most dynamic business and community leaders with a diverse career across property, the arts, finance, investment, entrepreneurship, government and health. Carol is highly regarded as a public commentator and agitator on issues of gender equality, women’s leadership, governance and business.
Denis Moriarty
The Our Community House team is led by Our Community Founder and Group Managing Director Denis Moriarty. Denis has a strong background in executive management in both the public and private sectors.
Sylvie Meltzer
Creative Director and Head of Programs, Sylvie Meltzer has been part of the Satellite team since early 2019. Her background is mostly as a teaching artist in education and community work in Melbourne, India and China. Sylvie feels strongly about creating dialogues and connections in collaborative, creative and supportive ways.
