Window Past Event
Presented by Shilton Design Studio | Norm Warehouse
Window is a light installation that creates a pocket for self-reflection in a busy public space encouraging the audience to shift their experience of being in public. A small recycled timber cabin displays a window made from opaque heartwood timber veneers. By day the cabin is powered by sunlight. Participants sit inside as sunlight filters through the ‘window’ panel, passively lighting the interior space and illuminating a cross section of hoop pine. The interior will be bathed in a gentle reddy pink light emanating from the timber window. The space will be furnished with timber seating, providing comfort to sit and contemplate. By night, the cabin is lit from within and viewed from the outside, creating a large sculptural lantern.
