How does access to transport impact our lives? When designing on a macro scale, what is the process in which the micro experiences of the individual are considered? How are the needs of the commuter balanced with those of the community?
This panel discussion explores the social and environmental benefits of macro transport infrastructure through a selection of notable Victorian rail and urban design projects, including Reservoir and Frankston Stations.
Kevin Begg
Kevin is an Urban Design Subject Matter Expert for the Victorian Government on large-scale transport infrastructure, having spent the last six years working on projects including the Level Crossing Removal Project and the North East Link Project. This role has included countless Urban Design Advisory Panel meetings, community engagement sessions and construction site visits.
Marc Debney
Marc is an architect and principal whose urban design and people-centric approach enriches Genton’s transport and precinct design projects. Marc has led the design of many award-winning transport and civic precinct projects, including Frankston Station and Reservoir Station.
Robyn Pollock
Robyn is a senior urban design adviser for the MTIA Level Crossing Removal Project, part of the Urban Design Advisory Panel, and a studio leader at Melbourne University and RMIT University. Robyn abounds with enthusiasm and passion for the city and the role that transport plays in shaping the urban environment.
Dan Brady
Dan Brady is a design director at Development Victoria focusing on major urban renewal precincts. A design architect by background, he was also a once-upon-a-time artist, and tutor at the Bartlett and RMIT University.
Deiter Lim
Deiter is a landscape architect and urban designer, member of the Office of Design Architecture South Australia (ODASA), and Managing Director of Tract. Having started his career working on transport and infrastructure design, his focus is on the public realm outcomes for the projects and he has produced award winning urban landscapes for a range of transport projects.
