From Then to Now: Designing Old New Again (Geelong) Past Event
Creativity Cluster is a group of Melbourne women artists and designers who all work in different mediums.
In this exhibition, we explore the use of second-hand, discarded or upcycled materials to create new forms with new uses.
On display will be works by Nancy D Lane, brooches and wall sculptures made from street trash; Luna Cameron-Parrish, upcycled garden furniture with mosaic inlays; Lindsay Hussey, textiles integrating old doilies and lace from op shops; Deidre Ogilvie, wall hangings and rugs incorporating fabric scraps and reused wool; Marina Chamberlain, collages created from vintage posters and textbooks; and Pat Duncan, art works on glass shards.
An introduction talk by the Creativity Cluster facilitator, Nancy D Lane, will be held prior to the start of Melbourne Design Week on 24 March from 5-6pm at The Reimaginarium.
