From Then to Now: Designing Old New Again (Kyneton) Past Event
From Then to Now: Designing Old New Again explores the use of historic themes, materials and techniques, reinterpreted in new ways as relevant to contemporary art and design. As a corollary, several of us have integrated second-hand, discarded or recycled items into our works.
The exhibition showcases the diversity of this theme across the range of mediums the group uses: Nancy D Lane (NancyDee Sculptures), found object assemblage; Penny Sharples, oil and cold wax; Marina Chamberlain, mixed media and collage with vintage and found papers; Lindsay Hussey, textile and mixed media; Deidre Ogilvie, oil, watercolour and mixed media collage; Pat Duncan, oil and acrylic; Mardie Whitla, hand-built ceramics; and Luna Cameron-Parrish (Amethyst Moon Art), mixed media.
Penny Sharples will be providing an interactive presentation on 12 March from 11am-12pm at The Old Auction House. She will explore important issues for creatives such as intentions and priorities, sustaining creative output, allocating time for creative play, and marketing and selling.
