Shoot for the skies!: A global design jam on our flying taxi future Past Event

Presented by ThinkPlace and Ethos Urban

Flying taxis are coming to cities worldwide.

China is already trialling them; the UK has approved the world’s first urban landing hub; and here in Australia, an apartment tower with a flying taxi landing pad is being built in Freemantle WA.

Are you ready for them to arrive in your city?

The opportunities and challenges flying taxis present for the city of Melbourne are big and complex. Whilst the aircraft technology is significantly developed, there remain major infrastructural, logistical and social considerations for integrating this service into Melbourne’s existing city systems.

This virtual Global Design Marathon will bring together participants from across continents and disciplines to deep dive into the challenges and opportunities presented by this new form of transport.  Over 24 hours, teams will take turns in 90 minute design jams to tackle their assigned Design Challenge, before passing the baton onto a new team – progressively building broad-reaching design solutions to the urban aerial mobility challenge.

You are welcome to register for any session, regardless of your location.
