Local Colour by Scanlan & Makers investigates the potential for a premium architectural paint derived solely from Australian raw materials, and asks the question: how can choosing local paint & colour shape life within the built environment?
Painter and colour-designer Clare Scanlan has invited local designers and creatives, known for their unique work with colour, to submit meaningful objects whose colours have been formulated by hand into a new ‘local’ colour collection: an effort to record the local landscape through the eyes of its residents, in the form of pure colour.
Join us for the official launch of the Local Colour palette and explore the handmade processes and raw materials that form the Colour Collection. Meet contributing artists and learn of their inspiration while enjoying complimentary beverages provided by our event partner, Four Pillars.
Entry is $10 per person or upgrade to the Local Experience at $25 and quaff from your very own ceramic vessel handcrafted by Jordan Wood and designed to enhance the colour of your Four Pillars tipple.
CLARE SCANLAN
Founder of Scanlan & Makers, Clare’s life’s work is the art, science and alchemy of colour and texture. Trained as both an artist and an artisan paint maker, Clare’s practice sits at the intersection of architectural design, fine art and trade painting and examines core questions about our relationship with colour in the built environment, the sustainability of our art and architectural products and practices, the provenance of colour itself, and the way we interact with and seek to personalise our private spaces.
