Discover the story of the designer of these acclaimed Victorian Health Promotion campaigns: ‘Life. Be in it’ and ‘Slip! Slop! Slap!’ in a collection viewing of the archive of Alexander Stitt (1937 – 2016), a graphic designer, illustrator, writer and animator.

In 1975 with Phillip Adams and Monahan Dayman Adams, Stitt designed ‘Life. Be in it’, an initiative of the Victorian State Government’s ‘get healthy program’. For this campaign Stitt created Norm, an overweight unhealthy anti-hero who ultimately became a cult figure. Proving that social norms could be changed by media campaigns, Monahan Dayman Adams followed up with a skin cancer prevention program for the Anti-Cancer Council of Victoria, ‘Slip! Slop! Slap!’ animated by Stitt. Join renowned illustrator Julian Frost, and RMIT University’s Dr Noel Waite for this special collection viewing.
