How do monuments in our public gardens reflect and relate to site and history? How do they speak to, and for, us?

Fluff Corp’s two-day outdoor exhibition The Talking Ornament in Flagstaff Gardens asks eleven designers and artists working with clay to playfully re-imagine public monuments. By creating a temporary intervention for alternative avenues of engagement with objects in public space, this exhibition showcases a diverse range of expressions within the ceramic medium. The event features a free sausage sizzle and picnic, inviting the public into a dynamic exchange between artist, site and ‘new monuments’, for a communal experience in urban space.

This exhibition closes with a performance by Amrita Hepi.
