Melbourne Glassworks: Open studio, dinners and workshops Past Event
Melbourne Glassworks, one of the largest glassblowing studios in Australia, will be opening its doors to the public for the first time during the Design Week. The studio will be hosting workshops, dinners and live glassblowing demonstrations showcasing both national and international talents in collaboration with Mark Douglass Design.

We are transforming our studio into an open space for drinks and food to commence our week of hands-on events. Complimentary drink on arrival, with live DJ. Watch a series of demonstrations live, and stroll through the exhibit of collected works from MGW designers and associates.

We have curated experimental sessions for designers to try out the world of glassblowing for themselves. From sand casting an object of your choice, to paper weights and vases, the MGW team will work with you to create your own unique glass work to take away the following day.

Open studio exhibition will run all week from Saturday 27th March through to Saturday 3rd April. The artists and designers include Nick Mount, Pascale Gomes-McNabb, Gavin Brown, Mark Douglass, Tracey Lester, Andrej Larson, James Alexander and Tom Cohen. The works will have a broad cross section of different techniques in glass design.

DINNER & DEMONSTRATION EVENINGS
The night will feature exclusive glass demonstrations by the Melbourne Glassworks team and special guests. Sit down for a 3 course dinner with paired wine, whilst viewing the action live in the studio. Mark and the team will be on hand to discuss the artists work whilst
